The Dhammachai International Research Institute (DIRI) in New Zealand and Australia, envisioned by the venerable Luang Por Dhammajayo, is a beacon of spiritual exploration and discovery. This esteemed institution dedicates itself to perpetuating the profound vision of Luang Por Dhammajayo, embarking on a quest to unearth the original teachings of the exalted Supreme Buddha. Specifically, it focuses on the widely scattered teachings of Dhammakaya, a quest that has spanned over 17 years. This journey of enlightenment and dedication has led to a deep, authentic understanding of the Dhammakaya, affirming its presence within ancient Buddhist scriptures. This evidence is not confined to one form but appears in various mediums, including inscribed stone tablets, silver folding scriptures, palm leaves, and numerous other inscriptions, found both domestically and internationally.

Particularly in the past year, the Dhammachai International
Research Institute has unearthed additional evidence of Dhammakaya teachings in
several new regions, notably in Central Asia. Here, they discovered ancient
Buddhist manuscripts written in Kharosthi script, estimated to be between 1700 to 1800 years old, amounting to 10 pieces or 20 polios. Furthermore, they found a significant number of ancient Buddhist manuscripts, including one from the Tunhuang caves of the Mogaoku, aged between 1000 to 1700 years, originating from China. Currently, these invaluable manuscripts are preserved in prestigious museums and libraries, such as the British Museum, British Library, Oxford Library, London Library, and Cambridge Library.

In Southeast Asia, the Dhammachai International Research
Institute has unearthed Dhammakaya scriptures, etched onto palm leaves, which
form part of the meditation practice texts in Cambodia. Additionally,
inscriptions indicative of Dhammakaya teachings have been discovered in Angkor
Wat, and evidence of Dhammakaya Katha in ancient Buddhist manuscripts in
Cambodia and in the northern regions of Thailand. Having acquired these
original teachings, which are considered foundational data, the Institute's researchers,
who are studying at various universities around the world and specialize in
ancient languages and Buddhism, have collaborated in research. They work both
individually and in conjunction with global scholars to produce academic works
about the Dhammakaya evidence and to disseminate this authentic information.
They bring it to the world's attention in the form of scholarly works of
international standing.

Currently, the Dhammachai International Research Institute has
established Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with 15 educational institutions
across the globe. These include prestigious universities such as the University
of Sydney in Australia, the University of Washington in the United States, the
University of Oslo in Norway, and the University of Cambridge, particularly at
the Centre for Buddhist Studies at the University of Oxford in the United
Kingdom.

Particularly noteworthy is the long-standing academic
collaboration between the Dhammachai International Research Institute (DIRI)
and the University of Otago in New Zealand, spanning over a decade. This
partnership has made significant strides, as evidenced by the university's
approval to launch a Master's program in Buddhist Studies in the 2019 academic
year, open to interested students. Remarkably, this program introduced the
study of Pali language for the first time, making it a fundamental part of the Buddhist
Studies curriculum at the University of Otago.

For 17 years, the Dhammachai International Research Institute
has been unwavering in its dedication, staking its very existence on the quest
to unearth the original teachings of the Supreme Buddha, particularly regarding
the Dhammakaya, to bring the truth to light, in line with the vision of the
venerable Luang Por Dhammajayo. Today, this relentless pursuit has culminated
in the gathering of extensive evidence from ancient Buddhist manuscripts and
various inscriptions. The Institute has been able to produce scholarly works
that reveal and substantiate the existence of the Dhammakaya teachings,
bringing them into global recognition.

The success in uncovering the evidence of Dhammakaya today is
not where the journey ends, but rather, it serves as a source of inspiration
and a driving force for continued exploration. This achievement fuels the
determination to further seek evidence, ready to advocate and defend the
teachings of Buddhism for generations to come.
